I sent in a leather band Minute Machine to Oakley 2 weeks ago and got a call about it today.

I asked the guy if I could buy a Ti bracelet for the watch. He proceeded to inform me that there were no more Ti bracelets as they have been discontinued.

I further asked him about me sending in my Ti/Red TT in for service (new band) and he again, reiterated that I would only be given the choice of Unobtanium or Leather for a replacement band.

Am I missing something here? When did this happen?

That is true. When I went to walk-in warranty the guy replaced two links and said that they only have pieces, and don't have actual complete bracelets anymore. :-\

Last I checked, they were still available to dealers. Anyone want me to check if I can order through my local account?

I see a disturbing pattern forming here. It appears that Oakley is becoming a "you bought it now it's yours so don't ask us to fix it/support it company!" I've had issues with a pair of romeo 2 and I'm having a hard time getting them to take car of the frame. I have to resend it in. When I called the customer service rep. he told me that they didn't have anymore pieces and didn't support the romeo 2 anymore! left me scratching my head!!! Please if it's one thing we I would like the O to do and that is support your product for more than a quick second! We wanna keep our time pieces and sunnies forever... I would gladly pay a fee of some sort in order to keep my items in good shape. I mean it scares me to think that by next year they won't support the time bomb 2 I just purchased!!!

I guess it is a rather disturbing trend, eh?

So if each "link" can be had, I wonder if I can just get the 18 or so links plus the clasp each as a "Seperate" purchase. and then put it together myself.

oy... never easy.

I don't think that's entirely true. The leather was discod a long time ago, as was the flat unobtanium. Ti is still produced, but even though in the book, never available to be sold or purchased at walk in or over the phone. The Ti bracelet had a $400 or $450 price tag on it as a replacement, so it really isn't all that practical anyway. Ti bracelet tanks aren't going anywhere I bet...but I will see what I can find out too...

Anybody have a clue what the unobtainium band cost? I'd like to replace my leather one.

I made a post about this to you in another thread about the bracelet band.

Wow, I was recently toying with the idea of parting with my Ti band red face TT/MM. In any case, I agree with ifinanceu, that the Ti MM shouldn't be going anywhere soon. Possibly on of Oakley's most successful watches. Leather bands gave way to UnOb, understandably, because the latter is much less susceptible to replacement needs. I'd keep at least one Ti band TT, then maybe grab a hex wrench (2.5, I think) and carefully swap in my Ti face brown leather version, once the leather wears out (or gets too stinky).

Unobtanium and Leather bracelets are $95
Ti Band is $450.

As of now, the Ti Band is not in stock. Leather and Unobtanium are in stock. Like others have said, the Unobtanium band wasn't available for awhile, but is now in stock. I assume the Ti band will evantually be available, but is costly at $450.

Upon further review, only the black leather is ready to ship. :(

again to my knowledge no leather replacements are available anymore nor are the original smooth unobtanium straps...I tried to get a brown leather one since I really want a brown watch to wear and couldn't get one no matter who I asked. All I have been able to get is the newer black unobtanium and to date since the watch's release, I have not seen or found available a Ti replacement at the factory. Trust me, I have asked many times...maybe walk in warranty doesn't and I should call tele warranty but I don't think I will have any better luck

Sure, but TT is still for sale on Oakley.com so you could expect to get replacement parts easily from Oakley, n'est-ce pas ?

Are we talking about warrenty parts, or just direct swaps to get a different color/material. To my knowledge they've never sold the bands alone.

yeah Dann, they bands have always been available to purchase but the retail on them has always been $450 for ti band alone which is pretty steep. I don't see the watch going away anytime soon so I am not sure why this would go away, maybe just sold out for the time being.....

This goes back to me sending in a black leather TT.

They called and asked me if I wanted black leather or unob.
I told them leather and then I asked about a Ti band, they told me Ti bands were discountinued.

I specifically stated "i have a red/Ti TT that needs a new band, you mean to tell me they are not available?" "that is correct sir, they are discontinued. We would offer you a black leather band or a unobtanium band."

I would like to think this is the case. Hard to believe Oakley would not honor their warranty if the product is still currently available and not a limited item. Perhaps they may not be available for purchase or replacement for out-of-warranty items (for now anyway), but they likely are being made and might be available again sooner or later.
