So I have a pair of 1GB thump pro's, they are awesome but the left ear piece stopped working. I called Oakley today to see about getting them repaired and according to the rep, Oakley can no longer repair any Thumps, Orokr, split thumps etc. because apparently they don't have any parts for them. They did offer me a 25% discount on any pair of glasses other than elites but still, what do I do about my $350 pair of half working Thump Pro's? Does anyone here know how to fix/replace a non working earbud?

I don't have a Thump Pro, but my Thump 2 seems to be "openable". You should try to see if you can open it and spot any cut cable or an unsoldered eletronic piece.

Yep, the thump pro is definitely open-able; it has T6 screws on the inside of the earstems. I am hoping it is as simple as a loose connection or a split wire. If not, it probably has something to do with the earbud itself.

Hi Guy's
I have a few models of thump and Orokr.
I have 2 X Thumps, 1x Thump 2 , 2x Thump pros, and 1x split thump. 1X Orokr and 2 X Orokr Pro's

The Thump battery life has shortend to 2 hour playtime and if I let the battries fully discharge I have to remove all files and reboot the thump to get them to work. can see these will get to a point they will not work at all. So avoid buying any pairs from ebay.

As for thump 2 the left ear piece stopped working as well.'
opened it up to take a look and good luck to anyone who can see whats wrong. Its impossible to try and fix, so they are rendered usless and just act as a display.

Thump Pro and split thump, touch wood, are still going strong and reduced batterylife is not an issue but evey time i use them for cycling I have to ensure I wipe all the sweat off immediately and clean them otherwise they will fail. Had this happen to my Oroker pro's volume buttons no longer work.

Great idea the Thump line but they have serious issues with durability. They dont like to be sweated on.
Also had the same warranty / Repair issue here in Australia. No parts at all.

It's a shame as they were a great idea. Surely there is someone out there with the knowledge to repair them. I live in fear of the day my snow & night camos give up opperating

It's a real shame considering how much they cost. I have the split thumps as well and at least with them if one of the earpieces goes out I can just replace it myself. It's easy for someone to say that all ear-buds fail eventually; but when you can't replace them, your out of $350. It baffles me that Oakley, knowing that the Thump line has so many issues, no longer has replacement parts for them.
