waaay back in december, I found a UK based site (steptoes) that said they had it in stock. I e-mailed them and surely enough, they didn't. But the guy said they may be able to track down a pair for me, and he would get back to me. Sure enough 2 weeks later, he said he had found one, probably the last sealed pair in the UK. at 249 GBP, the price was steep, but at the time, they were THE thing for me. I had to have them... lol I still do.
But when I got back to him he said he had sold them... as some sort of consolation he offered to sell me a pair of emerald slates instead :(
Yeah, if I ever found a pair at this point, I would pounce right on it. Same with a new pair of the original polished/blue irid ichiros.. the pair I have were a custom built pair with OO Blue lenses, gotten from that Arizona guy
A pair of carbon/OO's ended up popping up on ebay a few months ago, and I was freaking out. Alas... it went for $627 USD. Crazy fucking ebayers :(
I remember when that auction for the OO Ichiro's was on. There's a thread somewhere about it here. I couldn't understand then why someone would pay so much for an Ichiro, but I think I'm starting to see why. At that point I didn't know so many different Ichiro's existed. But now, thanks to the O-Review, I realize the error of my ways.
A local store here has a pair of Ruby Pennys if anyone has to have them. I'd say they're asking retail, but they're here and not going anywhere, and I'll pick them up and ship 'em anywhere.
