Hi, the gascan fits a bit too wide for my gf, i was thinking about adding some kind of rubber/foam padding at the tip of the ear stems, anybody have any suggestions? Where do you think i would be able to find this type of foam padding (similar to thump 2's ear stem's), i wouldn't think oakley customer service would sell them do theY? Any help is appreciated!

on THUMP 2 , there's a padding on the inside of the stems , maybe you can order them at oakley.

Oakley is coming out with a smaller Gascan maybe it will fit your gf better.

The padding on Thump2 fits into a cutout in the frame. I doubt you'd be able to get it to fit as securely on a Gascan, and doubt even less they'll sell you the pads as a replacement part.

Get her some Five 3.0s instead.

Yea she already has these gascans, and whenever she bends down to pickup something it slips out. It fell off today while she got some muffins *gasp*! LOL...
Ill try to stick some kind of material there...and save up some more money to buy her another pair of oakleys hehe

You can try heating up the temples, and then try to bend them.
However, that's something I don't recommend!

O-Matter doesn't respond to heat and bending.

yes it does. find an optometrist you trust, or even an opd, and see if they have a device for molding plastic frames. I watched my friend at the mall mold a pair of five 2.0's for a girl a while back. the contraption looks like a little warming tray with these white plastic beads in it. the beads heat up and you dip the frame in. they transfer the heat via contact, rather than trying to use an oven or lighter or heatgun. worked really well, but you have to work with it to get the right fit. and you obviously can't remold the orbitals, only the bridge and the stems/temple.

I've heard the o-matter frames that are heat-treated and bent/formed to fit don't really work. They will revert back to their original shape. Thus I am just repeating Phil's post!

I don’t know, but does anyone know if O matter is a thermo plastic.
If so it will respond to heat and gentle shaping as mentioned.

I don't think you can "Heat treat" a plastic in the conventional sense. Thermo form yes and in the pulling or shaping change the physical characteristics.

Similar to taking a loose ball of wires and pulling on it thus lining up the individual lengths.

The alignment of the lengths at the molecular level would make the plastic more ordered similar to a crystal and doing so makes it stiffer.

I can see Fives 2.0 possibly taking a bend but they usually tend not to on the thicker or larger frames.
