I've had quite a few emails about this and I've had a discussion with my contact and this is what he's decided.
First of all the price is £25 for lettering only. £30 for signatures or logos (the increased price is due to the complexity and programming the computer for the more complex design). These prices are for up to five lenses. More than five with the same design and the price goes down by £5 per lense. These prices also are supposed to include 17.5% VAT but since I've told him that they are for export, he dubiously agreed to waive the VAT.
Shipping by ordinary airmail is £2-£3 (plus £3.30 if you want priority insured shipping). I would also stress that I am not making anything on these but just to doing it as a favour to O-Review members. My contact is in the electronics business and the machine is used in the course of his business, He is not a lense engraver and in fact, it is a hassle for him to do it since he has his own business to get on with. Payments made via Paypal will need Paypal charges paid as I don't want to end up taking a loss.
Also, any lenses shipped to me for engraving are done so entirely at your own risk. If it screws up, I and my contact do not want to be held responsible. You'll get your money back but the loss of the lense is something you have to deal with. If you cannot afford to lose the lenses, don't send it in for engraving. Sorry to sound harsh about this but I don't want to be blamed for something that's not my fault. My signature G30 will be back next week and I'll post pics then. After that, it's your decision.
Thanks guys!
