It's amazing the correlation between posting less repetitive stuff (that could be found a few pages earlier, no less) and other pure non-sensical crap, and posts being deleted. You won't find the quality posts being deleted.

Dude all this talk is kind of annoying. If you get your post deleted by a Mod, don't be mad about it. That's the Mod's job, to look over this site and get rid of the crap. I think the Mods are doing a great job. If you aren't happy then why come back here. I think some people on here are lucky enough to be on here. Some people should be banned considering the kind of constant crap posts that they put on here.

Well put Jumpman.

It seems it's less than a handfull of members whom have issues with post counts and deletions...the other 99.5% of us enjoy this place for what it is.

Agreed, How many of us ignore posts from members, who have the need to reply to every single reply, let alone every thread. Which is a pity as there could be something worth reading. Deleting posts helps stop this

I just hate how we've lost a lot of good members since they don't feel like weeding through the filler.

Couldn't agree with you more Dann. I, for one, spend far less time here these days, and I know it's the same situation for many others.

Not that I'm saying the deletion of posts is a good idea, but lately, since the o-review has gotten to be a lot bigger, it seems like we've picked up quite a few people who make lots and lots of posts. This makes it hard to be away from the o-review for more than a day without being completely lost as to what happened.

I was gone for about 3 days out of town, and havn't been able to catch back up since in that time, a bunch of my favorite threads grew by 150 posts or more. I'm basically lost now and catching up is taking a while.

So basically, the deletion of some posts is a good idea in theory to keep the review less crowded and easier to stay up to date with

but take members like the O-whores or johnnygoodbeer, and I don't see them complaining.
Dont get me wrong, i wont complain..i think the new system is cool.
as for post count..it does get rid of the spam some people have put up,
i cant speak for O-whores...
as i speak for myself..it doesnt really matter what system we are using does it..like i said, at least the spam posts will be gone, not that i spam anyway.
i know what its like to be an admin or mod on a site..sometimes you just want to delete loads of old threads that dont get posted in for a long time and lock the spammers out.
but i am easy as they say..i wont be rushing out to try and catch dann up with his collection, as i would never be able to do that..i buy what i want, if i like it at the time i have the money..and i would never be able to catch up to bong and all his watches..buy what you like if it suits ya.!!
this is NOT a dig or comment to anyone.
just be happy we got somewhere..where WE ALL LOVE OUR OAKLEY PRODUCTS.!!

I hate political threads.

But I always feel the need to make the same point in every forum I go to when something like this comes up.

Bottom line is - this is Dann's forum, Dann's website. If you don't like the way things are run here, no one's forcing you to stay. And that point aside, why would you want to stay if it's such an upsetting place to begin with?
Friends? Your friends will stay your friends. True friends can't be swayed one way or another by anyone else's input or opinions. Even if you left, they'd still be your friends and they'd still keep in contact with you.
A wealth of Oakley knowledge? You can still browse the site and forum without having to get involved.

I've been a Mod before and it's not a glamorous or thankful job. You never please the entire populace. It's impossible to always keep the peace. You can only hope to maintain a decently high level of it. And in all honesty, even with the spats I see here and there, I think O-Review has a comparably low flame rate.

Guys - plain and simple...this is one of many places for you to spend your time. You can come and go as you please. If one day someone does or says something to piss us off, we won't sit around complaining about it. If we feel like we're being ganged up on, we talk it over with those involved like civilized adults. If we feel it can't be resolved, we'll just suck it up or leave if it's that bad.

Fun. That's all we're here for. And I'm sure that's all you really want, too.

I agree...Well put. Who really cares about post count as being a big reason to post here...That is BS plain and simple. I never paid attention to mine, and didn't notice it when they were gone...No love lost here, just keep kickin' ass Dann and this place will rock always!

One key note to any and all who bitch about post count, and where did this or that go, or anything here...This is a private forum in which you gain permission to be here by registering yourself...You are allowed to transact here as a privilege, kind of like a driver's license. If you screw up, they yank your privilege to drive, so don't screw up here, or you will get the boot!! You weren't born with a right to come and post here or trash others, it's private property and at some point you may become unwelcome. Let's just keep it constructive, friendly, helpful, and all will go well....

Here here. Well-said everyone! Way I see it; If you can't hang out here without causing controversy than you must be trolling for problems because this place is the most laid-back and relaxed place I could ever imagine. There will be times when people with opposing opinions will clash but there is a way of doing so without getting personal and launching attacks. To hear certain members constantly complaining is annoying and tedious. Hopefull this kind of thing will stop and we can get back to what brought us all together and that is a love and passion for Oakley and its products.

PS...Dann is the Man.
