Sounds sick, i know afew od the Bone with ice were made for athletes. But wondered why no one here had mentioned them, cos they were sick. The Bone was like a light grey/off white. They were insane.

Sounds like nothing more than a Pearl frame with Ice lens custom pair.

Frame color has often been the source of "new or rare" Oakleys and it usually due to someone not knowing the "correct" Oakley name for the color

eg Crystal Red has been called Cinnamon, translucent red or ruby frame

pearl with ruby Josh? I know i promised myself only x metals from now on but damn! I gotta get me one of those. Can we custom cut 1 for a mag switch or is it gonna be too hard to remove lenses?

Nah, not pearl. I compared the two in my hands. And the bones was in between the xmetal and pearl.

Sounds like Plasma. Maybe they tried it on a few back then.

I concur. My friend has one of the first release Plasma Juliets and sitting next to our Plasma Juliet...it makes the damn thing look like Titanium!

cutting lenses for a Switch would be a huge PITA. For one, to take the old lenses out, you have to cut them/break them. Then you have to bend the new lens to pop it in.

I tried to send my Plasma/Fire in to have Ice lenses installed and they wouldn't do it: said it'd be too much work...

I would be so all over that Dorian. I wont even have second thoughts if I should buy it or not. Although I promised myself only x metals from now on, Im still gonna pick up one of those if I see them :-)

I would cut the lenses no problem...That's the easy part by far, but getting the old lenses out to trace from, and putting the new ones in...Wouldn't even try it...I have attempted it once, and the lens wouldn't budge at all...Grantd, if I had tools there, I could have removed the lens, but not without major damage and alteration..Would be useless to try to trace because it would be so screwed up...

Never fear OR members! I have a solution to your problems. I finally got around to some mad science this week. I had an old pair of Ti/Ice Mag Switches which bit the dust in a nasty fall (mine). They were on top of my head at the time & I landed on them. The flex coupler broke in half as well as both spring hinges (which are irreplaceable because HQ has no more parts). Orbitals, lenses and earstems survived (except for one metal icon). With no way to repair them and HQ being of no help, I decided to cut through each orbital with a hacksaw in order to get the lenses out. It was a success. Would it help if I traced out the lenses and scanned the result into my computer? Would anyone want a copy so they could use it to cut their own lenses? Hit me with a PM if you'd like a copy. You could just print it out (at 100% of course) and presumably it would work. At the very least, it would be an interesting experiment. After I do the trace, anyone who wants the lenses can simply PM me and will be happy to sell them. They look really good but are not mint (maybe 7.5-8/10). Also, PM me if you are interested in the earstems. I will send you some pics.

Wow! If you fell hard enough to break your glasses I hope your head is ok.

Is UT as cold and miserable now as my family is telling me it is?

yup--it's wonderfully freezing!

FYI: my head is fine, I didn't fall on my head. I fell backwards and switches fell off my head onto the ground where my backside landed on them.
