WEIRD question but does anyone know what these "terms" really mean on oakley.com
- Running Low
- In High Demand
- Only a Few Left
- Limited Stock
I'm just curious because the site when it comes to AFA seems to run out of some stuff quick. I think 90% of the time when anything goes out of stock it never comes back.
Just wondering what kind of urgency should someone have when they see those terms. "Only a Few Left!" does seem to be "accurate" but all the others just seem like a sales push.

Founder of Metalwood Studio. Using O-Review as a resource to hopefully inform future collaborations. We just launched a really awesome, Friends and Family Exclusive colorway of the Pro M Frame during Paris Fashion Week :) - thick_owens

Our youngest just graduated from High School. Our oldest is going into his third year of college. I remember going away for a meet-up at Oakley HQ when they were still in grade school. Somehow that seemed like yesterday.

Travis is clearly hurting for money. Colabs with Nike and Air Jordan amongst other brands and now Oakley. I almost feel sorry for him:D - JP
Ha Ha!!! Poor guy.

Nice frames :) - obsession
I guess I'm a lame OAKLEY fan because I can't make out what they are. Or are they new? I see some characteristics of past models in these. But I don't know what I'm looking at.

The big thing about O+Meta I thought was it would be a sports model as compared to lifestyle like the Ray Ban. Again, another reason why seeing HSTN was a surprise. Patient Cero reminded me that the Sphaera model(s) are supposed to launch later this year. Again, I didn't know this HSTN version was even in the pipeline. I love the clear color-way of this version though of course.

I get it - if they are moving around and they are inconvenient to wear, especially when you're running, I can see why you wouldn't like them. I guess I didn't see them as a homage as much but more as a pair inspired by the originals. It's tough to surpass the OG of anything. It happens but not often it seems.
The Ellipse isn't earth shattering. But I think they feel since they made the icon into an actual pair of eyewear is why they believe these are anniversary worthy and also justifies the price.
$200-$250 is reasonable. IMO the actual cost is based on nostalgia, perceived cool factor, some tech and the fact that they are unofficially pushing it as an anniversary model.
They are releasing these in the 50th anniversary color-way: Midas Fleck/Prizm 24k

I personally really like the Re:Subs. I have two pairs and I don’t double up on a frame often.
I think the Ellipse price is scaring and ticking a lot of people off. Most people would buy the Ellipse without blinking an eye if they actually really retailed for $200/$250. You can say I’m wrong - but in my experience Oakley fans are like Nike fans. They complain and rip on new pairs and eventually a good number of them do a 180 and end up buying them.
