My preference is for the Orange Dial but will see what is available, don't mind one that has been worn and loved. I am based in the Uk but also have someone who is based in Florida coming over in the last part of August and they could courier the watch for me.

Going back to page 3 and Dann's excellent breakdown of Gen 1 & 2 M Frames lenses and the date of issue , has anyone got or even seen a picture of a Gold Iridium Gen 1 lens in any model. This will be a lens without Oakley on it.

The only time a coolant leak has been welcome news , 2 Radars and 1 Frog in antifreeze with gold x 2 and Jade lenses all picked up over 2 days in near mint condition.

Yeah japan always has pretty cool apparel. I used to buy the scatter skull club head covers from over there and have them forwarded to me - MicahS

Yeah everywhere is boring when compared to the wild stuff they have in Japan !

Bob with my experience of Oakley lenses I am tempted to say well in the small print they do say don't wear them in strong sunlight or look at them funny , but I won't ! Hmmm considered that had two pairs of Zeros spent all the years in their carboard boxes in an opticians storeroom yep both showed delamination. These lenses are perfect just missing a layer half way down.

So yet another M Frame Baseball in Goldmine this time , I just can't leave them alone, sigh. Sorry the pics aren't the best its the UK so not much natural light in winter ! and I am saving the planet by not having a new phone every 6 mths. These came in from the States and on the original pics I thought it was a reflection (this is why I needed natural light) but no, if you look closely across the Heater lens along the top of nose you can see a line . Yep another 4.55 pm Friday job from Oakley it looks like they missed part of the process ? It really is subtle and if I had ever seen it before I would say it is a deliberate two tone or graduate/fade but I haven't on an M Frame lens. Anyway not going to cry over it as the lens and frame is near perfect and I certainly cannot blame the seller and it makes an interesting talking point.

Ah Paul , you are probably only used to seeing them brand new in the box not having been out being used in the real world for 25 years the frames match all my other Gen 1s apart from this odd stamp.

Hmmmm its just too random for my liking , must take a close look at my Zero arms . It really is like a Friday afternoon on the assembly line after the pub , lets just stick anything on anywhere !!!! Bit like those sub zero fingerprint N's that just appeared out of nowhere , mind you they did have a box with a code !!!

Another deep bow KT , you are a mine of knowledge when it comes to the exotic and you my friend have just ruined my evening with those Baseballs !! My only fear is I get drunk tonight and thrash around in my Zero collection pulling the arms off one and sticking them onto an M Frame !! Or I could just go and post something rude on the other place and which won't stick out anyway. Seriously though good pic find !

Right the New M Frame crystal clear frames with bubbles in them sold , good luck to that buyer. But back to knowledge and in particular the lenses (everyone stop groaning !). Now I know there was great discussion on mumbo/m frame so confusing there but quite frankly that thread became a bit big and confusing in itself and pictures etc became scrubbed (presumably after the hack) it was also complicated by too much detail/knowledge and not all in one place in the thread so it would be nice to just concentrate on the basic basics of what we know about the lenses. Now we all know the basic types all all refer to the famous picture showing the 10 lenses not later varied and vented ones (later issued with New M Frame). With reference to the basic 10 lenses comes the question of issue date, Gen 1 vs Gen2 and onwards. Now we know as a rough rule of thumb, that Gen1 lenses mainly had no print on them but later Gen2-onwards did. But which ones are purely Gen1 and never crossed over to Gen2.

Now I am guessing-

Strip, V and 67 will be Gen1 (no print).
Original Hybrid Gen1 & Gen2 (printed).
Heater Gen1 and Gen2.
Sweep Gen1 & Gen2.
Slash Gen1 & Gen2.
Strike Gen2.
Hybrid S Gen2 .
New Hybrid no print but SI issue only so Gen2 onwards.

Yes Dann makes sense they had probably improved the crystal material by then - certainly no bubbles ha. Darn - 2015 release (2010 on data base) well outside my collecting range ( pre 2007) may have to through these back in or turn a blind eye, bit like the X-Squared !

Once again thank you Dann, the knowledge of why , excellent answer why no crystal clear New M Frame , I should have remembered the problems with the 1s and 2s and the superglue ! Was lucky enough to pick up he crystal red ones a couple of weeks ago , thought they may have been a bit rarer, price seems a bit better knowing that now.

Thanks Dann the last word on vintage Oakley's has spoken - it will not be admitted into the hallowed collecting inner circle. That and there are more bubbles than an Aero Bar !!! Pity it would have been cool , the other bidders want to believe or are in denial !!!!!

Oh I saw these , love them , if only they were $20 I would be tempted to buy them and send them to Lux they could just bang them out immediately and call them the new Racing Jackets. Maybe they got the New Zero I have seen a pic of from the same place.

Wonderful. Love to see all these old examples. Especially the side-by-sides. - Dann

Cheers Dann , glad you liked them. Like you I like the old stuff up to 2007. I rotated the Mumbo box pic and can't get it back Doh ! The text underneath said probably the Europe issue because of the blue sweep sticker. I was trying to see the Made In USA writing but couldn't must check the box again to see !!!!
