All polycarbonate lenses have an index of 1.59 or higher. 1.6 really isn't considered a hi-index lens these days, though they technically are so you are correct. The crizal lenses in my chisels are 1.74 index and are about 2/3 as thick as an Oakley equivalent, and for me that's allot since my eyes are pretty messed up. :)

I purchased my frames from the pleasanton vault store, and had the lenses cut by a local optomatrist who is also an OPD and received them in perfect condition.

I dont think I would go through anyone but an OPD for such an expensive purchase.



I opted for Crizal-Alize lenses, because the oakley lenses are not available in hi-index.

The stockholm is a nice design, but it is VERY small, smaller than the A-Frame. If you have a big head or wear a helmet it absolutly will NOT fit you.

Crowbars are still my favorite. I wish they would release a larger A-Frame strap.

Guess that officially makes the stockholm unisex :)

I'm a little bummed, just called my local vault to check on the availability of polarized crowbars and was told they would not be stocking them in the stores at all.

I'm from the SF bay area, so I'm close to a good number of vaults, as well as my local OPD.

Normally I use an essilor lens cloth which is much nicer than the Oakley bags, but its getting greasy too which is why I asked about cleaning.

I suppose I should just go bug my OPD for a bunch of essilor cloths since I spent well over a grand there in a single day, but I do want to keep my bags looking nice and usable for cleaning as well.

I see a lot of threads asking about lens and frame care, but I'm interested in how you guys and gals keep your microbags clean and ready to clean?

Most of my O stuff is stored in a closet and the bags dont see much cleaning duty, but the frames I wear on a regular basis, RX gascans and chisels are cleaned daily and the bags and microfiber cloths I use are getting pretty greasy.

Do you just run everything through the washing machine? hand wash? tell me your secrets :)

Also forgot to add after a bit more research, most "Blue Topaz" is created in a lab by radiating colorless topaz. So it wouldn't really be authentic :)

I think it could be really cool, maybe somthing like a cross between fire and gold iridium, without the green edges associated with fire.

isn't most topaz somewhat amber/gold in color? I did a quick google search and found Topaz, and Blue Topaz. So I'm assuming "Topaz" would be more yellow.

Wow crazy design on the corkscrew. I'm liking the bottlerocket alot but not diggin the doubledown so much.

I know its stupid to ask since there really isnt any information yet, but any chance topaz will make its way onto the RX lens lineup? I would love to see somthing like a cross between bronze and gold iridium.

I know the lens transmission profiles for the goggles are different then the standard eyewear. Also the A-Frame, Wisdom, and Snow Crowbar use a dual lens system, which might be causing some strange reflections or tinting when you look through it from the outside.

Canon digital, bounced flash, 17 - 40mm lens and 100mm macro, no tripod, but it would help. Using a small white box or even just white paper would help a lot as well.
